Pakistan trade deficit reduced by 1.1 billion in FY 2019

ISLAMABAD – Finance Minister Asad Umar says economy visibly responding tothe stabilization after measures taken by the PTI Government, which thePML-N Government left in a danger zone.

In a tweet, he said trade data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows thatexports in January 2019 were higher as compared to 2018 while imports werelower and as a result trade deficit reduced by more than 1.1 billion dollaror 31.7%.

The Finance Minister said from July to December, deficit in trade ofservices downed 800 million dollar or 29% vs same period last year, whichshows an improvement even more pronounced than the improvement trade ofgoods.
