KABUL – Unidentified gunmen have shot dead an officer of the NationalDirectorate of Security (NDS link) in Kabul, anofficial said on Saturday.

Mohibullah Sharifzai, Maidan Wardak governor’s spokesman, told PajhwokAfghan News the incident took place in Qala-i-Kashif area on Friday evening.

Unknown gunmen killed Feroz, serving in Maidan Wardak province. Feroz wasthe brother of the special forces commander and police chief for Chakdistrict.

As usual, the Taliban link claimedresponsibility for the killing of the intelligence officer. ZabihullahMujahid, the group’s spokesman, said Feroz was serving as commander of aspecial forces unit.
