Diamer Bhasha Dam hits a land controversy between KP and GB

PESHAWAR – Chairman Bhasha Dam Action Committee Asadullah Qureshi Thursdaystressed the need for implementation of commission report on 15000 kanalland to end harban dispute between KP and Gilgit Baltistan.He said despite the commission report on 15000 Kanal land of Harban disputebetween KP and Gilgit Baltistan, implementation of the report was stillawaited.He said this while addressing a press conference here at Abbottabad PressClub after a protest for their rights and compensation of land acquired forBasha Dam.Asadullah Qureshi said a high powered commission in its 72 pages report hasdeclared that 15000 land of Harban was a part of KP and rejected the claimof Gilgit Baltistan government.He said 22000 people of Harban were deprived of their due rights.He demanded KP government to transfer the land of Harban to the natives andgive them the compensation against the land acquisition for Diamar Bhashadam besides the royalty of the dam construction.The protesters were holding the banner and posters against thenon-implementation of the commission report and warned if the KP governmentfail to fulfill their demands then they would start sit in and block theKarakoram Highway.
