MULTAN – Railways Minister Shiekh Rashid Ahmed said on Wednesday thegovernment would resolve the problems of the country within a period of oneyear.Talking to the media persons at DS Railways office here, he said that PrimeMinister Imran Khan was struggling in this regard and hoped that he wouldsucceed in resolving the country’s problems.He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was an honest person and no onecould level allegation of corruption on him. The whole world acknowledgesImran Khan’s quality and have immense respect for him (IK), he added.Shiekh Rashid said that Imran Khan brought financial packages from China,UAE and Saudi Arabia.The incumbent government has zero tolerance against corruption, he said andadded that massive corruption was done in past, due to which, the countrywas facing financial problems.Pakistan Railways was also following a policy of zero tolerance against thecorrupt elements, he said.The minister said that he had raised slogan “Aaram Haram Hay” (Rest isforbidden) in Railways department.To a query about his name for Public Account Committee (PAC), Shiekh Rashidsaid that his name for the membership of PAC was given by Prime MinisterImran Khan. He has no objection on making Khawaja Saad Rafique and RanaSanaullah as members of Public Accounts Committee. He maintained that hewould present his viewpoint respectfully in the PAC. Dispelling theimpression of confrontation in PAC, he said that he thought there would beno such thing.Sheikh Rashid claimed that he was one of the senior politician andparliamentarians and he knew very well the rules and procedures of PublicAccounts Committee.He said that there were dozens of cases of corruption against Oppositionand he was going to the Supreme Court against them.He said that masses had assured him of complete cooperation towards thegovernment during his journey to different railways station. He said thatpeople wished that Prime Minister Imran Khan should take strict actionagainst corrupt elements.He said that he would address a press conference on Feburary 8 and disclosemany things. He, however, added that no deal was possible without consentof Imran Khan.
