PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister Health Dr. Hisham Inam Ullah Khan said that the first ever health policy has been approved by the provincialcabinet here on Sunday with more focus to facilitate the poor and needypeople.He said this during press briefing soon after the provincial cabinet givenapproval to thefirst ever health policy.Dr. Hisham Inam Ullah Khan said looking after the basic need and facilityto the poor thepolicy has been formulated. He said that the PTI government in the past hadalso formulated similar type of steps in the health sector to form a systemunder which the poor and needy people could be facilitated.Dr. Hisham said that the basic structure in the health sector would beimproved under the saidpolicy and new things would be introduced so that to fulfill the basic needof the people in health sector.He said introducing health card was a milestone of the PakistanTehrik-e-Insaf government in the past with the basic aim to facilitate thebasic generalpublic in the hospitals run by the government.It has been insured the availability of the doctors, paramedics staffbesides availability of the required medicines to the patients.He said that steps have been taken to make ensure each and every hospitalwill equip at the district headquartersacross the province so that to lower down the burden over the big hospitalsin provincial capital Peshawar.Dr. Hisham Inam Ullah Khan said that revolutionary steps have already beentaken to makeensure quality healthcare facility to the general public.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken distinction over other provinces to be thefirst province of introducing the first ever health policy.He said under the policy not only the urban but the people in the ruralareas would befacilitated.Dr. Hisham said that in the said policy, the whole structure of healthcaresystem was up-gradedand everyone should be answerable and accountable of their act.He said the policy has been formulated in the light of the suggestions andproposals beinggiven by 30 top healthcare experts in the field.He said that in the next five years steps would be taken by the governmentin the light of the suggestion andproposal given by the experts in the said policy.Hisham said before introducing the health policy the basic structure ofhealth department,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was upgraded under which proper data system has beenintroduced at each and every Basic Health Units.He said that every time with the government change new policy had beenintroduced whichbadly damaged the healthcare sector. He said under the new policy theongoing projects and new projects would be completed on priority basis sothat to makeensure quality healthcare facility to the people.
