Hurriyat leadership condemns arrest spree, slapping of PSA on Mushataq Veeri JI activists

In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani and Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has condemned the arrest spree, slapping of draconian Public Safety Act on religious scholar, Mushataq Ahmad Veeri and Jamaat-e-Islami activists.

In a statement in Srinagar the APHC Chairman said, the authorities are hell bent to curb and strangulate the genuine aspirations and political voice for the right to self-determination.

In another statement in Srinagar, Ashraf Sehrai said that such undemocratic act could not weaken the sentiment of Kashmiri people for right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, a resolution condemning the harassment of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by the National Investigation Agency and crackdown on workers of socio-religious organizations was read out at several mosques in mosques across the Kashmir valley.

A statement issued by Mutahida Majlis Ulema in Srinagar said that the resolution expressed solidarity with Mirwaiz and vowed to stand by him.
