ISLAMABAD – In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, MirwaizUmar Farooq, has said that the Kashmiri people will continue to seekpeaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute and India will not be able tointimidate them into submission through use of repressive measures.
Addressing a public gathering at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today, he saidthat repressive tactics of the Indian government to silence the Hurriyatleadership would not change the dynamics of the Kashmir dispute.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, in astatement in Srinagar termed as baseless the allegations leveled againstthe illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman,Muhammad Yasin Malik, in the dossier issued by the authorities against him.
Meanwhile, forceful demonstrations were held in Hyderpora, Nowhatta,Maisuma, Aabi Guzar, Badgam and other areas of the occupied territory,today, against the summoning of resistance leaders by NIA, detention ofHurriyat leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik under PSA and ban onJamaat-e-Islami.
Indian troops today launched a cordon and search operation in Tiken area ofPulwama district, where unidentified gunmen shot dead a civilian inGulzarpora area. Charred body of one Mushtaq Ahmed Pir, who was working asa tailor with the Indian Army, was found in an army camp in Panzgam area ofKupwara district.
