Pakistan India Kartarpur talks underway at Attari

ISLAMABAD – Talks are underway between Pakistan and India on KartarpurCorridor at Attari border.

The Pakistani delegation at the talks is led by Foreign Office SpokespersonDr Muhammad Faisal.

The delegation also includes senior officials of Foreign Ministry, InteriorMinistry, Ministry of Law and Justice, and Religious Affairs Ministry.

Pakistan has already started work on its part of the corridor and has beenurging India to construct the corridor on its Indian side.

The corridor will go a long way in facilitating the Sikh community of boththe countries to visit their holy shrines without visa formalities.

Talking to media persons at Wagah border before leaving for Attari today,the head of Pakistani delegation for Kartarpur talks Dr Muhammad Faisalsaid they are heading to India for talks with a positive message andhopefully the talks will succeed.

He expressed the confidence that the dialogue on Kartarpur corridor can bea step forward in the right direction in the current vitiated situation,from conflict to cooperation, animosity to peace and enmity to friendship.

He said Pakistan is moving forward with the spirit of constructiveengagement and flexibility.
