DUBAI – The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday responded to PakistanCricket Board’s (PCB)linkagainst the BCCI over issue of military caps.
ICC revealed that the India cricket team had taken permission for someother purpose from cricket’s global governing body and an action should betaken against them for wearing the military caps.
The ICC in a statement said India was granted permission to wear camouflagemilitary caps in the third ODI against Australia as a tribute to thecountry’s armed forces.
In the third ODI in Ranchi on March 8, the Indian team sported military capslinkasa mark of respect to the CRPF personnel who were killed in the Pulwamaterror attack and donated its match fee to the National Defence Fund.
“The BCCI sought permission from the ICC to wear the caps as part of afundraising drive and in memory of fallen soldiers who have died, which wasgranted,” ICC’s General Manager Strategic Communications Claire Furlongsaid in a statement.
