ISLAMABAD – Ambassador of Pakistan to China Masood Khalid has lauded therole of Pakistani students in projecting positive image of the countrythrough academic and cultural pursuits.Appreciating the performances of Pakistani students in Chinese educationalinstitutions during “Pakistan Students Forum” organized by the embassy ofPakistan in Beijing, the ambassador said that over 25,000 Pakistanistudents were the third largest community in China.
He said that Pakistanis were the top recipient of Chinese scholarshipsterming it as a manifestation of the growing cooperation in educationsector between the two countries, said a message received here on Monday.Masood Khalid said that the present government was giving priority toeducation, adding that that educational cooperation was now an importantcomponent of bilateral ties between Pakistan and China. He also referred toCPEC, which has opened up new opportunities for job creation and skilldevelopment of Pakistani youth.The Ambassador termed the students as an asset for Pakistan and urged themto work hard and observe unity in their ranks to be effective goodwillambassadors of Pakistan in China.Around 400 students, including a large number of female students, from 42universities in China participated in the event.The students actively participated in the interactive session andappreciated Embassy’s outreach efforts in providing an opportunity forsharing their views on various aspects of Student life in China.Earlier officers of the Pakistan Embassy gave detailed presentations on thestatus of current cooperation between Pakistan and China in educational,scientific, and cultural fields.The presentation on Consular and Community Services being rendered by theEmbassy were also part of the programme.
