Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia in its fight against terrorism

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has expressed serious concern over the drone attack byHoutis on the Saudi city of Abha that took place on Saturday.

Government of Pakistan reiterated its full support and solidarity with theleadership, the Government and people of Saudi Arabia against any threatsto its territorial integrity and Harmain Shareefaen, said a statementissued by foreign office here.

“We commend the government of Saudi Arabia, especially the Royal DefenceForces, for timely intercepting and destroying the drone before it couldcause any serious damage”, it added.

It further added that the news of injuries to Saudis and other expatriates,as well as damage to properties, as a result of falling debris of thisdrone remains a matter of concern. “We pray for early recovery of theinjured”, it said.

The statement stressed that such attacks, targeting the unarmed civilianpopulation, are a clear violation of international law and posed a seriouschallenge to regional peace and security.

Pakistan condemns them in the strongest terms and stand in solidarity withthe Saudi government in fighting terrorism in all its forms andmanifestations, it added.
