Indian police Officer gun snatched by unknown gunmen in Occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR – Unknown gunmen on Friday snatched the service rifle of apoliceman in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, officials said.

The policeman is posted as a personnel security officer (PSO) of districtdevelopment commissioner, Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana.

PSO Daleep Kumar claimed that some masked gunmen intruded into hisresidence at Shaheedi Mazar area of the town late night and decamped withhis AK-47 rifle and mobile phone after threatening him and his family, theofficials said.

They said the area was immediately cordoned off and a massive hunt has beenlaunched to nab the gunmen and recover the looted weapon. The PSO was beingquestioned, the officials said adding further details are awaited.

Suspected militants killed a senior BJP leader and his brother in the townin November last year. The case was handed over to the NationalInvestigation Agency but the culprits are still at large.
