Pakistan High Commissioner Sohail Mehmood seeks PM Khan advice over future ties with India

*ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood called onPrime Minister Imran Khan on Friday, the Foreign Office said in astatement.*

According to the Foreign Office, the Pakistani envoy took Prime MinisterKhan’s advice on bilateral ties with India before his departure to NewDelhi.

In the wake of the February 14 bombing in Pulwama, Pakistan called back itshigh commissioner appointed in India for consultations over the prevailingsituation.

The situation between the neighbouring countries turned hostile in atit-for-tat airstrikes following the Pulwama attack that killed over 40Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

In a response to Indian aggression of Feb 26 at the Line of Control, twofighter jets of IAF were shotdown by Pakistan Air Force in broad day lighton Feb 27.

South Asian giant, Pakistan, hit the Indian targets as a demonstration ofits defense capability towards the Indian provocation, said the head ofPakistan’s military media wing Major General Asif Ghafoor.

The environment has comparatively cooled down between the two countries,however, experts are saying that threats of war are not over yet.
