ISLAMABAD – Hurriyat leaders and activists held protest demonstrations inSrinagar, Budgam and other areas, on Friday against the detention of Jammuand Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, underPublic Safety Act (PSA) and ban on Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir.According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS) , on the call of Joint ResistanceLeadership a large number of people including Hurriyat leaders andactivists staged forceful demonstration in Hyderpora, Maisuma, Soura, LalBazar and other areas of Srinagar in Indian Occupied Kashmir and stageddemonstrations.The protests were attended by Hurriyat leaders including Ameer Hamza Shah,Molvi Bashir Irfani, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, SyedMohammad Shafi, Mohammad Rafiq Uwasi, Mohammad Maqbool Magami, ImtiyazAhmad Shah, Shakeel Ahmad Butt, Rameez Raja, Mohammad Amin Butt, ImranAhmad Butt and others, while Aga Syed Akeel Mouswi organized a protestrally in Budgam, which was scheduled to be headed by Aga Syed HassanMouswi, but he was put under house arrest by the police.The protesters were holding placards and banners with slogans againstIndia’s oppressive measures.A large number of people including activists of Anjuman-e-Shari Shian alsostaged a forceful demonstration in Budgam to register protest against thestepped up Indian state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir.Meanwhile, the Hurriyat AJK leaders held a protest demonstration inIslamabad, against the detention of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation FrontChairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, under Public Safety Act (PSA) and ban onJamaat-e-Islami occupied Kashmir besides India’s fiddling with the StateSubject Law Article 35-A and intimidating raids by India’s NationalInvestigation Agency in the territory.The purpose of the demonstration was to register protest on the call of theJoint Resistance Leadership in Occupied Kashmir comprising Syed Ali Gilani,Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
