NAP implementation: Pakistan government takes control of the banned organisation

LAHORE: Further implementing the National Action Plan, the Punjabgovernment on Thursday took over the control of headquarters of theJamaat-ud-Daawa (JuD).

According to media news, the measures are being taken on the directives ofthe federal government in line with the provisions of the National ActionPlan (NAP).

The provincial government took over control of the headquarters of theFalah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF). Punjab Home Department confirmed takingcontrol of the headquarters.

According to a statement issued by the home department, NAP is beingimplemented in the province and the government is taking over control ofMaddrassas, hospitals and other facilities of proscribed organisations andpace of action will accelerate.

On the other hand, Prime Minister’s Spokesperson Nadeem Afzal Chan saidthat PM Imran Khan had decided to take action against banned outfits underNAP.

“The decision was taken in today’s federal cabinet meeting,” he said.

On Wednesday, a day after a brother and son of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM)leader Masood Azhar among dozens of others were taken into ‘protectivecustody’ for investigation, the government had sealed or took overadministrative control of scores of establishments run by the proscribedJamaatud Dawa (JuD) and Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) as well.
