LAHORE – Rai Tahir on Wednesday has been re-appointed as AdditionalInspector General of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

Tahir was sacked after Sahiwal incident in which four people, including acouple and their teenage daughter were killed in an alleged “encounter”.

However, Rao Sardar was given additional charge as his replacement.

Earlier, Lahore High Court (LHC) had sought a report from the judicialinquiry formed to probe into the Sahiwal tragedy on the next hearing of thecase.

The prosecutor told the court that six police officers were termed‘responsible’ for the incident while Zeeshan was declared terrorist in thefindings of the report.
