Pakistan National Aviation Policy 2019 finalised

KARACHI – The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Monday finalized theNational Aviation Policy 2019 (NAP 2019) inconsultation with all stakeholders, which will be sent to the federalcabinet for approval.

The policy was finalized in a high-level consultative meeting atCAA Headquarters Karachi under the chairmanship of SecretaryAviation/Director General of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)Shahrukh Nusrat, said a statement issued here.

During the course of the meeting Director Air Traffic & EconomicRegulation Air Commodore Irfan Sabir gave the presentationhighlighting all aspects/features of NAP 2019.

CAA Secretary Aviation/Director General Shahrukh Nusrat briefed theparticipants on main contents of the draft NAP 2019 and invited the houseto share their views and comments.

The participants of the meeting expressed their satisfaction onthe draft and highly appreciated the various incentives, opportunitiesand benefits offered to airlines and operators.

Airline operators appreciated the proposal of the rationalizationof CAA aeronautical charges on domestic sectors and called it a steptowards positive growth of aviation sector.

Stakeholders expressed their happiness on the steps promised inthe policy draft for the development of Aircraft ManufacturingIndustry and Maintenance Repair Organizations.

They also fully supported the proposal of enhancing the validityperiod of licenses to airlines and general aviation operators from oneyear to two years.

During deliberation session on the subject policy, which lastedfor about eight hours further proposals put up by the participantswere also addressed for finalization of the NAP 2019.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)PIA, Deputy Managing Director Air Blue, Chief Operating Officer (COO)Serene Air, CEO Air Indus, COO Air Sial, CEO Vision Air, CEO PrincelyJet, Chairman Hybrid Technique, CEO Air Falcon, CEO Aircraft Sales andService Limited, Manager North Operations K2 Airways, CEO ScaledAviation Industries, Country Manager International Air TravelAssociation, representatives of Afeef Zara and Liberty Air.

CAA Additional Director General Air Vice Marshal Tanweer Ashraf Bhatti,Deputy DG (APS) Syed Aamir Mehboob, Deputy DG (ANS) Khawar Ghayas, DeputyDG (Regulatory) Air Commodore Syed Nasir Raza Hamdani and all directorsrepresented CAA in the meeting.
