Samjhota Express Train falls victim to Pakistan India escalation at borders

LAHORE -Pakistan Railways Administration has cancelled the Samjhota expresstrain till next order, which was ready to leave for India on Thursday, amidescalating security situation.

According to Railways, the Samjhota train was suspended of their operationby Pakistan authorities in wake of soaring tensions between two countries.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson said that the Samjhauta Expresswill resume its operations as soon as the security situation between thetwo countries will improve.

The train connecting Lahore in Pakistan and Atari and Delhi city in Indiawas scheduled to depart today (Thursday) at 08:00 am but it was cancelled.

The suspension of the Samjhota Express came a day after Pakistan Air Force(PAF) destroyed two Indian fighter jets in a response to Indian Line ofControl (LoC) violation.
