ISLAMABAD – In a bid to attract maximum Pakistani manpower in the world,Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Syed ZulfikarAbbas Bukhari is making all out efforts as this segment of society play akey role in strengthening the national economy.
Due to his hard efforts, South Korea has increased 11 percent quota ofPakistani manpower but he is struggling to get it doubled.
According to Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment’s statistics,previously, Pakistan could only import 900 workforce to Korea which had nowincreased to over 1,000.
In a meeting with South Korean Ambassador to Pakistan Kwak Sung-Kyu, calledon him here on Wednesday, the special assistant discussed the possibilitiesof increasing 100 percent quota for Pakistani workforce.
The ambassador apprised the special assistant regrading recent measurestaken by his government to consume maximum Pakistani workers in the localindustry.
He said keeping in view the need of Pakistan to export its maximum manpowerto abroad and to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the twocountries, his government had decided to increase Pakistani workers quotaby 11 percent.
He said employment Permit System was another initiative which would helpenlarge the size of Pakistani workforce in the Korean’s job market in thefuture.
He also admired the Pakistani workers employed in Korea for their languageproficiency, integrity and diligence.
Terming the increase in quota a symbolic goodwill gesture, Kwak Sung-Kyuinvited Zulfikar Bukhari to visit South Korea which would eventually leadto more prospects for Pakistani workers in terms of employment.
The special assistant thanked the ambassador for his persistent efforts inhis three years tenure in office to strengthen ties between the twocountries.
Moreover, they vowed to continue working together to create a specialcordial relationship between the two countries and to further facilitatethe Pakistani expatriates in Korea.
