RAWALPINDI: US special representative Zalmay Khalilzad held importantmeeting with Pakistan Army Chief at GHQ.

Khalilzad on Friday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General QamarJaved Bajwa and discussed with him the ongoing Afghan reconciliationprocess, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Friday.

The meeting took place at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi, accordingto the ISPR, during which overall regional security situation withparticular reference to ongoing Afghan reconciliation process came underdiscussion.linklink

On the occasion, the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s effortstowards the ongoing peace process, the ISPR added.

Earlier this morning, delegation-level talks between Pakistan and theUnited States were held at the Foreign Office to discuss progress on theAfghan peace process.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua whilethe American delegation was headed by Khalilzad.
