Pakistan being pushed towards FATF blacklist, hints FM Qureshi

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has expressed that afterthe general elections in India, its new government would adopt meaningfuldialogues with Pakistan on all long-standing issues.

He was addressing the seminar on “Pakistan-India Relations and Resurgenceof Freedom Struggle in Indian Occupied Kashmir at National University ofScience and Technology in Islamabad today.

The Foreign Minister said world’s silence over the atrocities in Indianoccupied Kashmir is remorseful.

He paid tribute to the people of Occupied Kashmir who are continuing theirfreedom struggle despite the raging Indian violence and atrocities.

He said Pakistan always expressed serious intention about engaging India inbilateral dialogues but Indian government always restrained from it.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan’s positive diplomacy resulted inde-escalation between India and Pakistan after Pulwama incident.

He said that incumbent government is not oblivious to the deprivations ofBalochistan and had taken great initiatives in health, education andinfrastructure including Gawadar airport.

He said government has full clarity regarding the implementation ofNational Action Plan to its fullest for peace and stability of the country.

He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s government had found Pakistan ingrey list of Financial Action Task Force FATF and now we are being pushedtowards the black list but our government will do its best to avert thesituation.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi urged the need for national consensus on issue ofsecurity and said it was under this spirit that he wrote letters toparliamentary leaders of different political parties and personallycontacted the leaders of Pakistan Peoples’ Party and Pakistan Muslim LeagueNawaz.

Addressing the ceremony, Mishal Malik, the wife of Hurriyet leader YasinMalik said human rights violations are a matter of routine in occupiedKashmir by Indian armed forces.

She said global pressure should be excreted on India to put an end to thesufferings of the innocent Kashmiri people.
