PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Tuesday informed that situation of law and order has been improved in the province and decreased rate in social crimes has been witnessed in first quarter of 2019.
Sharing the details in his concluding remarks during discussion on law and order, Provincial Law Minister, Sultan Khan informed the house, situation of law and order has been satisfactory in the province while descending trend has been seen in social crimes during first quarter of 2019 as compared to first three months of 2018.
He said that law and order is a topic of significant importance adding suggestions and proposal from opposition benches would be considered duly. He said that each and every member of the house should work beyond its political affiliation for the objective.
He also paid tribute to the police force for their sacrifices and resolve in fight against militancy saying they performed in an excellent way for the noble cause despite inadequate resources and training to deal with the menace.
Sultan Khan also assured leader of the opposition, Akram Khan Durrani to help resolve issue of abduction of a Tehsildar from South Waziristan besides giving update to Mian Nisar Gul of MMA about handing over a student to Sind police by Kohat police force. He also assured the house to look into complaints of legislators about the attitude of police towards them.
Earlier the house thoroughly discussed law and order wherein members expressed their point of view over the topic.
Nighat Orakzai of PPP, highlighted the exemplary services of police force and diverted the attention of house over facilities being provided to police in KP. She questioned that whether police force was given special allowance for performing duties in these challenging circumstances.
Sardar Aurangzeb Nalota of PMLN said that we should work for peace irrespective of our political affiliations keeping in view its importance to achieve the goal of maintaining peace. He said that peace is serious issue and it should not be politicized.
Inayat Ullah Khan of JI also partook in the discussion and said that protecting the lives and property of the people is among the responsibilities of state. He said that incidents of militancy have been decreased while social crimes has been increased. He also stressed for an improved liaison between elected members and police aiming enhanced law and order situation besides developing confidence of public on working of police force.
Shafi Ullah of PTI also praised KP police force for its high professionalism and role against militancy.
