PAKPATTAN: Pakistani court on Tuesday has imposed fined on the man forflying a self made plane without taking proper permission from theconcerned authorities.
Yesterday on Monday, Punjab police arrested a man for attempting to fly asmall aircraft that he built in Pakpattan. He used the metal link road asa runway to take off on his maiden flight and took several rounds in theair before being arrested.
The arrested man is identified as Mohammad Fayaz and he is a popcorn sellerand part-time security guard. He designed the plane and built it usingwhatever supplies he could get his hands on. He also spent all his savingson his project.
But the police arrested Fayaz and took his plane into custody. They alsoseized a generator, 12-watt battery and two plastic containers with 10litres of petrol from the plane.
They lodged an FIR against him for building an aircraft without a permitand for flying the plane without getting the permission from the CivilAviation Authority (CAA).
“He is not qualified to fly a plane; he even doesn’t have safety measureslike a parachute to protect him,” said District Police Officer Maria.
“He could have endangered hundreds of people in the area if his plane hadcrashed,” she said.
However, Fayaz claimed “I made the aircraft with my hard work but insteadof appreciating me I was handed an FIR. My plane can fly up to 1,000 feet”.
Give me one chance so that I can prove that I am a patriotic Pakistani, heurged. He told the media that he had informed all the relevant departmentsabout his flight but no one responded to him.
He claimed he could create and fly a plane if the government helped him. Heappealed to the government for financial assistance.
