*ISLAMABAD – The 5-0 whitewash that Pakistan suffered at the hands ofAustralia has raised a number of concerns that need to be addressed by theMen in Green as they prepare to send their best players to the upcoming ICCWorld Cup 2019.*
One such area was the dearth of big hitters in the team, admitted Pakistancricket head coach Mickey Arthur, who said that he is concerned with theissue.
“That is one of our areas of concern, it is to make sure that we try andmake out guys bat at those positions as best as they can, that as a reasonwe used Faheem Ashraf in two games. The reason we took Faheem there is togive him a little bit of batting experience,” said Arthur while addressinga press conference on Tuesday.
The head coach further said that they are working a number of players toimprove this aspect of the game. “We have worked really hard with ImadWasim in that role, Hasan [Ali] can hit the ball at long distances, ShadabKhan has worked very hard on that aspect of his game. We work consistentlyon the power hitting of Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik.
“But it is an area that is a worry, and I have to work incredibly hard withit or look to rectify that,” he said.
