ISLAMABAD – Qatar has evinced keen interest for investment in differentsectors of Pakistan.
The interest was expressed by a visiting Qatari delegation during talkswith Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood in Islamabad on Monday.
Later, talking to the state media, Abdul Razak Dawood said the talks withQatari delegation focused on investment opportunities in power,infrastructure, tourism and agriculture.
He said Qatar sees Pakistan as an important place for its food security andwe have expressed readiness for it. He said an action plan will beformulated after identification of areas by Qatar for investment.
The Adviser on Commerce was confident that investment from Qatar will startpouring in Pakistan in next few months.
Responding to a question, Abdul Razak Dawood said the ministry of petroleumwill also discuss with Qatar the import of additional LNG on long termbasis.
