“Jaitley must understand this. It is not an easy thing to say. If you scrap(Article) 370, your relation with the Occupied Valley will be over,” saidMehbooba.
On Thursday, Jaitley had advocated the repeal of Jammu and Kashmir’sspecial status, saying Article 35A, which restricts non-permanent residentsto buy property in Occupied Valley, is constitutionally vulnerable and alsohampering economic development.
The former puppet CM said that Article 370 was a bridge between India andthe Occupied Valley and if the special provision of the Constitution wasrevoked, then New Delhi would have to renegotiate its relationship withOccupied Valley.
“Because if you have given us a special status in the Constitution of Indiaand you break that status, then we will have to rethink whether we wouldeven want to stay with you without conditions,” she said.
