ISLAMABAD – One of the most widely used messaging apps, WhatsApp, has sometop-notch features but it still lags behind its competitors like Telegramin some features, chiefly – dark mode.
Since last September, the company has been working to rectify thisoversight and whilst we have seen what the Dark Mode will look like onWhatsApp for iOS.
Now, WhatsApp has started testing this much-wanted feature on Android aswell.
The dark mode is currently available in its beta app for Android forversion 2.19.82. Unfortunately, as this feature is still under work, it’snot readily available for everyone. We have been able to get a glance atthe Dark Mode and how it will look in the Android app, thanks toscreenshots posted by *WABetaInf0.*

We have only been able to see the settings page for now and not the chatscreens because the Dark Mode has only been developed for the settings page–for now. It is hoped that by the time the feature is launched for thepublic; WhatsApp will have implemented Dark Mode successfully for the fullapp.
Furthermore, unlike its iOS counterpart where the Dark Mode is pitch blackmaking it OLED friendly; Android, has a dark grey color which could make itless useful on smartphones with OLED panels.
