LONDON – The High Commissioner of Pakistan to United Kindom, MohammadNafees Zakaria on Thursday received delegation of Kar Sewa Committee SikhGurdham (UK) led by Joga Singh, General Secretary.A statement of Pakistan High Commission Londonissued Thursday said the delegation paid a visit to convey their gratitudeto the people and Governmentof Pakistan for the arrangements of upcoming event of 550th BirthAnniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.Furthermore, the delegation eulogised Pakistan’sefforts in opening of Kartarpur Sahab corridor as this was Sikh community’slonging for last 70 years.The corridor opening is a gift from Prime Minister Imran Khan to the Sikhcommunity on the eve ofBaba Guru Nanak’s birthday.
The delegation praised and thanked Government andpeople of Pakistan for restoration, maintenance andupkeeping Sikh sacred as well historical sites in Pakistan.The High Commissioner assured that as per past practice, the HighCommission would extend usual courtesies and assistance to the Yatris.
He briefed the delegation on investment andbusiness opportunities that existed in religious tourismand infrastructure development.To show Pakistan’s message of universal peace, egalitarian brotherhood,social cohesion and religious harmony, the High Commissioner invited thedelegation to visit all the Sikh historical places and share theirexperience and sentiments with the Sikh Diaspora around the world.
