LONDON – Sajid Javid, 49 a Pakistani origin Britisher has emerged as asstrong candidate for the slot of UK PM if PM Theresa May decides to resign.
Javid, a former banker and champion of free markets, has served a number ofcabinet roles and scores consistently well in polls of party members.
A second-generation immigrant of Pakistani heritage, he has a portrait offormer Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on his office wall.
