*ISLAMABAD – Pakistani expatriate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) hasbeen honoured by the police for his act of gallantry and responsibility.*
Sharjah Police on Tuesday said it had honoured a Pakistani man namedMuzaffar Hussain Nathar, for helping the police arrest a wanted criminal.
The police posted a photo of Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak Bin Amir, DeputyGeneral Commander of Sharjah Police, handing him over an award.
Muzaffar Hussain Nathar had informed the police about a wanted robber andfollowed him until the police arrived at the scene and arrested him.
Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak Bin Amir said such behaviour represented thepositive role of society members.
The Pakistani thanked the police for the honour and expressed hope that hisact would motivate others to cooperate with police.
On March 17, lauding heroics of a Pakistani man, who had embraced martyrdomafter trying to stop the Christchurch shooter, Prime Minister Imran Khanhad said his courage would be recognised with a national award.
“Pakistan is proud of Mian Naeem Rashid who was martyred trying to tacklethe White Supremacist terrorist & his courage will be recognized with anational award,” he had said in a tweet.
The prime minister had said the country stands ready to extend all supportto the bereaved families of Pakistani victims of the terrorist attack inChristchurch.
