ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday summoned the DeputyAmbassador of Pakistan to Kabul, Shahbaz Hussain, over the recent“irresponsible” remarks by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on aninterim setup in Afghanistan to break the deadlock of peace in the country.
“Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its grave objection on PakistaniPrime Minister’s recent ‘reckless’ statements about the peace process andestablishment of an interim government and deemed such statements anobvious example of Pakistan’s interventional policy and disrespect to thenational sovereignty and determination of the people of Afghanistan,” theministry said in a statement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also recalled Atif Mashal, Afghanistan’sAmbassador, from Islamabad for further discussions on the matter, thestatement said.
