Overseas Pakistanis in Canada make a big donation for Diamer Bhasha Dam fund

ISLAMABAD – Overseas Pakistanis in Canada have donated 260,000 US dollarsfor the country’s dams fund.

The donations were given at a ceremony held in connection with Pakistan Dayin Edmonton city, the Radio Pakistan reported on Sunday.

Ahmed Saeed purchased a bat signed by Prime Minister Imran Khan at 17,000US dollars, while Dr Khurshid Khan and Dr Zaeem Siddiqui jointly boughtImran Khan-signed ball at 10,000 US dollars.

Chairman Senate Committee on Information Faisal Javed and former ChiefJustice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar addressed the event, organized by “Iam Pakistan” movement”.

Speaking on the occasion, Senator Faisal Javed said the government hasprepared a financial strategy for Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

He expressed hope that both dams will be constructed between five and nineyears.

Senator Faisal Javed told the audience that 50.5 million rupees are beingreceived in the Dams Fund daily.
