Pakistan cannot trust Modi on his words

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has clearlyhinted that Modi cannot be trusted over his words.

He said Pakistan welcomes the message of good will on Pakistan Day byIndian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, however, it will have to stay vigilanton borders until the Indian elections in May.

The FM was speaking to Geo News programme ‘Nayya Pakistan’ where he saidthat the Indian PM’s message is tantamount to ‘better late than never’.

“We have to stay vigilant,” said the foreign minister, adding that anyuntoward move cannot be ruled out until May 19, the day India goes to vote.

On the question pertaining to Pakistan People’s Party Chairman BilawalBhutto’s allegations regarding banned organisations, the minister said thatBilawal should tell himself what sort of action he recommends in such asituation.

“If he were in the government, what would he have done?… He should tellus in writing and we are willing to talk on this” said Qureshi.
