*KABUL – The number of * US military personnel killed in America’s17-year-long conflict in Afghanistan crossed 2,400 as the NATO’s ResoluteSupport mission confirmed that two US service members were killed whileconducting an operation March 22.
In accordance with US Department of Defense policy, the name of the servicemembers killed in action are being withheld until 24 hours afternotification of next of kin is complete, the statement said.
The statement, however, has not mentioned the area of the operation.

About 14,000 US service members are currently stationed in Afghanistan,with the primary duty of training, assisting advising the Afghan forces.
