ISLAMABAD -Australia faces a setback ahead of the opening ODI againstPakistan.
Australian all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell may miss the first ODI of thefive-match series against Pakistan on Friday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The flamboyant all-rounder has been struggling with health and it can makeAustralia’s decision easy to play both of their front-line spinners, AdamZampa and Nathan Lyon on a turning track in Sharjah.
The spin duo of Zampa and Lyon played a key role in steering Australia tothree ODI wins against India in their backyard including the series decider.
Though the off-spinner was also ill and missed the Tuesday trainingsession, but he returned to practice on the next day.
The five-match ODI series will be played between Pakistan and Australiafrom March 22 to March 31. Pakistan have rested six of their frontlineplayers, including Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed,Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Whereas, Hussain Talat is droppedfrom the squad, while Mohammad Hafeez is out because of a fractured thumb.
