Samjhota Express blast case: Pakistan gives a strong response over the verdict

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly condemned acquittal of four terroristsin 2007 Samjhauta Express bombings case.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal stated thatIndia’s decision to acquit terrorists behind Samjhauta Express bombings is‘extremely deplorable and condemnable’.

Dr Faisal inquired that what answer Indian government would give tovictims’ families.

A Panchkula special court on Wednesday acquitted four people includingSwami Aseemanand for the deadly firebombing of the Samjhauta Express in2007, Hindustan Times reported.

At least 68 people were killed in the attack on bi-weekly Samjhauta Expressback then in February 2007.

Investigators had concluded that terrorists had used improved explosivedevices and inflammable substances for the blasts and the fire in twocoaches of the train near Panipat in Haryana.
