PM Imran Khan held important meeting with World Bank Chief, 8 billion financing expected

*BEIJING: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday held a meeting with ChiefExecutive Officer (CEO) of World Bank Kristalina Georgieva on the sidelinesof second Belt and Road Forum in Beijing.*

The meeting discussed Pakistan’s economic condition, while Prime MinisterImran Khan briefed CEO World Bank about reforms being taken by thePakistani government to uplift country’s economy.

Georgieva and PM Khan discussed expected financial assistance from thebank. Pakistan is expecting financial program upto $8billion.

The prime minister would was flanked by his Advisor on Finance Abdul HafeezShaikh and his Advisor on Trade Abdul Razaq Dawood during the meeting.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan is also schedule to meet InternationalMonetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde later in the day.

Pakistan is engaging IMF for a bailout package of around $6billions.

The meeting between both was finalised in a high level contact between thefederal government of Pakistan and the IMF.

The prime minister will apprise Lagrade about financial conditions ofPakistan, during the meeting.
