Dr Aafia Siddiqui swap with Dr Shakil Afridi?

*ISLAMABAD – Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal has said thathe believes Dr Aafia Siddiqui does not want to return to Pakistan.*

Speaking to the *Independent Urdu*link,he said if US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Imran Khan meet inthe future they could speak about a prisoner exchange involving Dr Siddiquiand Dr Shakeel Afridi.

Dr Siddiqui was convicted in 2010 of seven counts of attempted murder andassault of US personnel and is currently serving an 86-year sentence at theFederal Medical Center, Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.

Last year, Dr Siddiqui’s sister Fowzia approached Foreign Minister ShahMahmood Qureshi and requested him to bring up this matter with theAmericans, said Dr Faisal.

In a Tweet, the minister had said that they were looking into ways tofacilitate Dr Siddiqui’s return to Pakistan. Houston Consul General AyeshaFarooqui also met Dr Siddiqui on the directives of the minister.
