ISLAMABAD – Discarded fast bowler Wahab Riaz breaks silence after beingrejected for World Cup squad.
He aimed a spot in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming World Cup, slated tostart from May 30 in England and Wales.
“As a cricketer, you always target World Cup and it’s disappointing for methat I will not be a part of this year’s mega event,” said Wahab whiletalking to the ARY News exclusively.
Wahab said that as a player his job was to perform well and rest depends onthe selectors and hopes that the team management has better plans for anall-important tournament. “I have tried to perform whenever gets anopportunity. If you see my record then I have taken wickets in the UAEwhere the conditions don’t suit to the fast bowlers,” he said.
While commenting on Pakistan’s selected squad for the World Cup, Wahab saidthat the squad lacks experience which might create problems for the team inEngland.
“In my opinion experience player can give you an edge in biggertournaments,” said Wahab who thinks that Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeezhave to play an important role in the mega event.
