ISLAMABAD – The second level of technical talks on the Kartarpur corridorwas held on Tuesday at Dera Baba Nanak border’s zero point.
Engineers and other officials were present in the meeting. India hasoffered to make a flyover from Darshni Sthal (from were one can see thegurudwara on the Indian side) up to the zero point were the country’s andPakistan’s corridors meet.
The country had proposed Tuesday’s meeting to address outstanding technicalissues. Currently, the project is being implemented on the ground.
The first meeting was held on March 19. During the meeting, that includedengineers and surveyors, the site was surveyed and alignment of thecorridor was discussed.
In March, India postponed the second round of talks between officials onKartarpur after New Delhi raised concerns over the presence of Khalistanisin a Pakistani committee that will oversee the implementation of thecorridor.
The first India-Pakistan officials’ meet was held on March 14. The nationthen, proposed that the corridor should be open to Indian citizens anddiaspora with 5,000 people being allowed each day.
