KABUL – The U.S. Secretary of State has reacted to deadly Taliban againstthe U.S. forces close to Bagram airbase which left four people deadincluding three U.S. service members and a contractor.
“My heartfelt prayers to the families of the Americans killed near Bagram.I condemn this disgusting terrorist act. U.S. service members havesacrificed their lives in Afghanistan to keep us safe and no cowardly actof terror will impede our efforts to achieve peace,” Pompeo said in astatement posted in his Twitter account.
“Three U.S. service members and one contractor were killed, and three U.S.service members were wounded by an improvised explosive device April 8 nearBagram Air Base,” the NATO-led Resolute Support mission said in a statement.
The statement further added that the wounded service members were evacuatedand are receiving medical care.
