ISLAMABAD – Chairman Pakistan Cricket Committee Mohsan Hassan Khan Fridaysaid Pakistani team was lacking specialized opening slot which would be amajor drawback in World Cup 2019.

Talking to private news channel, he said they could not set their middleorder due to whichonly two players bear all the pressure.He said the quality all rounders were vital for wining a match and stressedthe need to further boost the performance of available all rounder’s to winnext mega event.He termed mental fitness was more necessary than physical for the playersto perform in coming One Day World Cup to be held in England.He said during the recent one day series with Australia, Pakistani playerscould not show good performance in mental fitness test. You must haveprepared mentally while playing against the tough team, he advised.A good team and player always performed in pressure; Mohsan Khan saidadding that Pakistani team was potentially strong.

“We had option of six to seven fast bowlers for selection who couldperform well in next World Cup”, the Chairman said adding that due tochange of the weather conditions in England they could also select spinners.He lauded the efforts of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for providing maximumfacilities to the players. PCB, he said, had provided coaches to the teamfor training in all fields including batting, fielding and bowling.The team must have two to three plans in a match which could be adopted asper changing of the situation in game, Khan stressed.
