SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, forceful demonstrations erupted in Kulgamdistrict after Indian police and troops attempted to arrest a cleric.

The troops and police personnel after launching a cordon and searchoperation in the area tried to arrest a local preacher. However, the localsresisted the operation and pelted stones on the Indian forces.

The police and troops resorted to aerial firing and teargas shelling todisperse the protesters, triggering intense clashes between thedemonstrators and the forces’ personnel.
