NAB registers case against Hamza Shehbaz’s guards

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) registered on Saturday an FIR against Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz’s guards.

The FIR has been registered by NAB in Lahore’s Model Town Police Station. The FIR states that the NAB officials were treated aggressively by the guards of Hamza. The FIR also includes clauses of interference in official matters, torture and issuance of threats, local media reported.

On Friday, the bureau raided PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s house in Lahore to arrest Hamza in a case of assets beyond known source of income. The bureau remained at the house for an hour where both the PML-N leaders were present.

However, NAB could not arrest Hamza due to the guards and PML-N workers. In a press release, NAB said that it had gone to the leader’s house with an arrest warrant and the Supreme Court had stated that the accountability bureau did not require to inform any accused prior to arresting them.

The press release further stated that the NAB officials were treated aggressively by Hamza’s guards, their clothes were torn up and they were issued death threats.
