ISLAMABAD – Giving a briefing in Islamabad this afternoon on decisionstaken by the federal cabinet, Special Assistant to Prime Minister onInformation and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the cabinetformally approved the Asset Declaration Bill, which will be enforced aftergetting President’s assent.
She said the cabinet was informed that billions of rupees were spent ininternational litigations from national exchequer that increased from 6 in2016 to 45 this year.
She said 100 million dollars as fee has been paid during the last fiveyears while 10 million dollars are to be paid this month in internationallegal fees.
Special Assistant on Information said Prime Minister directed AttorneyGeneral of Pakistan that all ministries should carefully do their homeworkbefore signing international agreements in order to avoid legal troubles.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said Prime Minister Imran Khan also directed toevolve a long term policy in coordination with provinces to controlinflation in the country.
She said the cabinet approved taking measures for the facilitation ofPakistani citizens detained abroad on various charges. She said the PrimeMinister directed to bring back Pakistani citizens from Malaysia afterarranging required funding for that purpose.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said the cabinet also directed establishment oflow-priced bazars and availability of essential items at Utility Stores tofacilitate common people during Ramadan.
She said approved appointment of Major General Umar Ahmed Bukhari asDirector General of Rangers in Sindh.
