Former finance minister Asad Umar elected at key government post

ISLAMABAD – Former finance minister Asad Umar has been elected at keygovernment post by the parliament.

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue andEconomic Affairs on Monday unanimously elected MNA Asad Umar as itschairman.

The NA Secretariat’s special secretary welcomed the members and briefedabout the procedure regarding the election of the chairman.

Committee member Syed Naveed Qamar proposed the name of Asad Umar aschairman of the committee while Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak seconded hiscandidature.

Accordingly, Asad Umar was unanimously elected as the chairman of the NA’sStanding Committee on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs.
