LAHORE- A Lahore sessions court recorded on Saturday the statement of awitness, who was present at the rehearsal where singer Meesha Shafi allegedharassment, in the Meesha Shafi-Ali Zafar defamation case.
While Shafi’s appeal to not record the witnesses’ statements was rejectedby the court, Munir was able to present her testimony under oath. She saidthat there were 10-11 people present at the jam session where Meeshacordially hugged Ali.
She further stated that Shafi left after saying bye and claimed that herallegations of harassment were false.
Last week, another witness from Zafar’s counsel, Baqir Abbas, had recordedhis statement stating the same.
In April 2018, Shafi took to Twitter to accuse Zafar of physicallyharassing her on ‘more than one occasion.’
Recently, Shafi’s legal team sent Zafar a defamation notice demanding apublic apology and Rs2 billion in damages.
