KABUL – In Afghanistan, twenty-four soldiers were killed and eleven otherswounded after Taliban attacked defensive posts in Badghis province today.
In a statement, district chief Fazil Seddiq Seddiqi said hundreds ofmilitants armed with guns and rocket-propelled grenades stormed securityposts in Jar-e-Assyia in Bala Murghab district early in morning.
He said several militants were also killed and injured during the gunbattlebut the number is not immediately known.
The militants took control of two security posts before the arrival ofreinforcement.
