ISLAMABAD – Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing says Pakistan is a peaceful countryand the security situation has certainly improved over the past few years.
He said this during a meeting with Federal Minister of Interior Ijaz AhmadShah in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The Chinese Ambassador strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Lahoreand extended condolences to the entire nation on behalf of China and itspeople.
The Ambassador appreciated the role of Government of Pakistan indevelopmental projects with specific emphasis on CPEC. He said focus ofChina-Pak cooperation is primarily based on two areas that includeIndustrial and Social Development.
Elaborating the social factor Ijaz Ahmad Shah added that the PrimeMinister’s vision has been quite focused on poverty alleviation andimproving education sector.
Yao Jing proposed that a MoU may be signed to enhance Ministry levelcoordination with Chinese Ministry of Public Security to further strengthenthe collaboration on both ends.
The MoU will be principally centering on capacity building and technicaldevelopment of relevant organizations.
While discussing the investment and tourism potentials, the FederalMinister for Interior said Pakistan is now open to 175 countries around theglobe which is a milestone achievement of the present government.
