*ISLAMABAD – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has reached Kot Lakhpatjail after his six-week bail on medical grounds expired on Tuesday.*
“I am thankful to my lovely workers… I thank Zinda dilan-e-Lahore whoaccompanied me,” Mr Sharif said in a video message shared by his daughteron Twitter link.
“The dark night of injustice will end,” he said. “I know they understandwhy I am being punished,” the former prime minister said about hissupporters.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif in another tweetlink said that ittook them four hours to reach Kot Lakhpat jail from Raiwind which is hardly30 minutes away. “Thank you Lahore ,” she said.

His nephew, Hamza Shehbaz, drove him to jail while his daughter MaryamNawaz also accompanied him.
A large number of PML-N workers and leaders gathered outside his Jati Umraresidence and accompanied their leader to the jail.
